the big easy

Our cruise departed from New Orleans, and since we flew in the day before, we had some time to enjoy some sight-seeing. They had started preparations for Mardi Gras, so we saw some decorations and beads, but nothing really crazy.  We also sampled some of the local cuisine: gator sausage, gumbo, jumbalaya, and beignets. Yum.
